Our goal in procurement of these goods and services is to obtain them at the lowest cost while assuring the highest quality, most timely delivery, and to make all purchases on the basis of fair and equitable competition. To conduct the entire process of public purchasing with absolute integrity and in a crystal clear manner, without conflict of interest, as to eliminate any possibility or appearance of improper business relationship.
The activities of the Purchasing Department are governed by state law and legal ordinances adopted by the City Council, and executive orders from the Mayor. The staff of the Purchasing department is dedicated to achieving this mission and these goals with a strong commitment to outstanding customer service. A great sense of teamwork, on-going training and education enable the staff to keep abreast of the City's purchasing needs.
